Pools always closed in Oceans side

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Every time I come here since Covid shutdown the pools are not open or not fully opened. Was told they had it closed off because they were short lifeguards and 7 guards were standing around chatting in full view!

Today all the pools were closed because they needed to clean, WTH? Do that after hours- only opened about 7 hours a day.

Horrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have spent hundreds no let me make that thousands of dollars at Worlds of Fun. I have been fighting cancer.

My husband is a severe diabetic. I have watched through the days of October depending on which security guard etc. One will let one big backpack in, The next will say take a little bag out. Depending which line you're in.

We was told last night on a Friday if you're bringing bags and you have to be here before 6:00. Showed up at 5:30 with my cancer hat on and my cancer bag that holds my worlds of fun souvenir cups to get my drinks my phone and my glasses. Was told walk it back to the car. Explained there is health conditions I am very tired and that is hard on me.

They said that is not allowed in here Are you going to come back in the park. We said no just trying to take my glasses and my shoulder bag show them what was in my bag. Very empty bag except for Worlds of Fun stuff that's been bought here. Walked everything way back to the car.

Get back and they let about six women with bags in front of us in. My husband ask why that was They grabbed security. So my husband did raise his voice was not threatening was not cussing. They promptly ask us to leave the park for questioning what is going on.

They also said that we never said we have medical problems which we clearly did. Not to mention I have stuff from the hospital on my clothes. So we was asked to leave the park while other people a mother with a baby was not allowed to bring the baby stuff in.

A 5-year-old kid that had a Halloween costume on was asked to go to the car and take it off. It's the Halloween haunt This place has went straight to crap

Waste of money and time

We entered at about 2:00 PM, bought a ticket online for me and my husband to take our toddler to the water park and some rides. We were there for over 3 hours and got 15 minutes of swimming and one ride in because they kept closing the park for unnecessary weather.

We wasted over $100 worth just to be told we couldn't do anything because they kept closing it.

It was a waste of money and time. Very disappointed.

False advertisement

Their website shows that with a season pass, you have an option to buy a friend pass for 19.99. When you go to that option, it just shows 39.99.

I called and spoke with a ticket ambassador, and he kept arguing with me that the option is there when it is not. Then he tells me that option is for Sundays only.

It does not state that on the website. That is false advertising.

Poor experience for the price.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Let me tell you, everything was extremely overpriced. It was very hot outside and none of the cooling stations were running, except for one spray fan at the Zambezi Zinger line.

We didn't even ride it because of a 90-minute wait time with only 45 minutes left until the park closed. In fact, due to the park shutting down all of the major rides every hour for 'weather,' we were only able to ride two rollercoasters, which were the oldest and ricketiest ones because they had shorter lines. They don't give rain checks or issue refunds, by the way. I don't understand why they shut the rides down so often because the rain had already passed and it was only partly cloudy most of the time.

Hence, it was hot! They need to fix the air conditioning in the waiting line to Cyclone Sam's. My daughter almost had a heat stroke waiting in the room filled with at least 50 people in 90-degree heat. Also, the fast passes are too expensive for a regular Joe to buy for his family.

$75.00? Are you guys insane? It would have cost me almost $400 just for my family to ride the rides faster. However, that wouldn’t have mattered anyway because all the rides were closed half of the time we were there!

Now, let's talk concessions. I spent $107 to buy five refillable drinks for my family which we only got to refill twice because the lines were so busy. Even McDonald's offer free refills on a regular cup, stop being greedy. There wasn’t even ice in the machines, so we had to drink our drinks warm!

While waiting for rides to open, we spent $80 in the arcade for my 10-year-old daughter to spend 30 minutes crying and frustrated because none of the prizes she wanted would dispense from the broken machine. In the end, we traded $80 to play a few games for some plastic jewelry and dried-out slime. Everything is now digital, so it's a pain to exchange your cash for cards and one of the cash card machines broke down. The restrooms were disgusting and unkempt, with human *** and urine all over the floor.

The only rides we ended up riding most of the time were the outdated carnival-style rides because those were the only ones open. We could have gone to the local carnival this weekend without spending over $600 to do it. Sadly, the park’s condition has deteriorated. I remember Worlds of Fun being one of my favorite places as a kid.

Now, it has become a dump! 90-minute wait times? What a joke. It's summertime and it's hot, turn the damn sprinklers on!

This was the worst experience my family has ever had at this park. I want my money back. Oh, wait, no refunds...

right. Get it together, Worlds of Fun.

Online ticket purchase is a waste of time

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Warning new management at worlds of fun!!! When we bought our tickets and souvenir cups online we thought we were beating the line.

When we arrived we were sent to guest services where they took my wife's id and debit card to the back room to "verify". We were told we were good to go. After going back out to try and get into the park her phone was scanned again and we were told to go to back to guest services. We stood there and told them we just did and were told we were good to enter the park by guest services.

After entering the park we went to get our cups and the same issue with our qr code happened. This took over an hour after driving 3 hours.

Dropped to teenagers 16 and 18 yo kids just before it opened at 11am

Picked kids up at 3pm to go to eat to avoid $15 hot dogs etc

Dropped them back off around 4pm

Only to get a call that they suddenly need a chaperone.

I can't move.

I had to pay a $30 parking fee. Ridiculous.

Take an Uber from any of 8 hotels 1 mile away.

Then $50 park fee to go in and sit in heat

Why they need proof after 4pm when they don't in the morning??. racist against minorities dropping kids off when park is cheaper after 4pm

Take Uber

We took our kids for the first time today. I would rate it a 4-5, except for the fact that rides kept breaking down.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My kids and husband got stuck on the Prowler, in direct sunlight, for 20-30 minutes because the ride malfunctioned. My kids were absolutely terrified, and my husband had horrible heat exhaustion because of this.

The workers 'compensated' them with warm bottled water. It wasn't even close to cold.

Pros:
  • Close to home
  • Rides are fun
Cons:
  • Lines can be really long
  • Rides regularly break down

Preferred solution: Some sort of compensation, even if just free tickets for each person stuck on the ride (5 people)

User's recommendation: Be mindful of the rides you choose to ride because some of them regularly break down.

World of fun parking refund

Rides down

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Several rides on the amusement park side and some slides on the water park side were down and we were not told if or when they would be available. Long lines for food and drinks.

Employees were not helpful when asked questions about the food items or about the park in general. Overall not a good experience.

WORST IMITATION OF "FUN"

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Went here with my wife expecting to have fun and all I got was frustration. 1.

We got separated for 40 minutes because I couldn't find the ride she was at. 2. The map sections are too far apart. 3.

The employees were rude and condescending toward me because I was asking for directions. 3. I got laughed at by employees because I was carrying my wife's purse. 4.

If you happen to get lost in the wrong parking lot, they dont have the decency to install a gate so you dont have to walk down the entire parking lot all over again. I had more fun at a water park that is 70x smaller than this experience, back where I live. We came up here on vacation. 4.

I spent more time getting heat stroke, walking around, angry, dealt misfortune and sass than I did having "fun" the queue for the water park slides or anything remotely exciting was ridiculous. 5. 90% of the park walkway is layered in black asphalt. 6.

there is so many confusing twists, turns, and misleading directions.

I NEVER WANT TO GO BACK!!! WOF dont deserve our money or even 1 star!

Complaint

I was initially mad that when I went into the park, the security guard wouldnt let me in, they have a policy of 16 and younger needing adults but Im 23 and I look at least 26. I didnt bring in my wallet, only my keys because I was coming to pick up my underage sister from the park and I had to park in the back so I wasnt going to go to my car to grab my wallet to prove Im older than 16 just to walk back to my car, and BACK to the front entrance to the park.

My sister was left alone in the park since she thought I was coming inside. I am beyond mad about this because I couldnt even get to her because he wouldnt let me by. I understand they have rules but I do not look like a 16 year old and he didnt ask for anyone elses ids in front of me who looked younger than me.

Also, I tried reaching out to worlds of fun via phone, felt placed on hold, hung up on, then the phone line said they were closed. No other department took my calls and if they did they said Im out of state I cant do anything which is very unprofessional.
